One of the worlds great wine festivals unfolds this month on June 26th to June 29th. Held on the banks of the Garonne river in the UNESCO World Heritage listed city of Bordeaux a series of wine tastings, wine events, concerts will take place.
A spectacular son et lumiere (sound and light show) is projected onto the magnificent buildings around Place de la Bourse (refer photo) and fireworks are launched from barges on the river.
There is so much more to the city of Bordeaux but wine is integral to the economy and heritage of the city. On this one week-end every second year the Bordelaise and visitors from across the world celebrate the wines of Bordeaux!
This festival is definitely worth planning around for any trip to France.
